Cale Media Opens Google Maps Grid Checker to Livingston County Businesses

A Google Maps search from one part of town may show a business in a different position than the same search from another neighborhood. Checking once at the office does not show that difference.
Cale Media, a Howell-based member of the Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce, has made a Google Maps rank checker available for local businesses. Select a business and search phrase, place a grid over the area you serve, and run a scan. The map shows the returned position at each point, marks spots where the business was not found in the first 20 results, and summarizes top-three coverage. Users can export the observations as a CSV file.

The page includes a saved 7-by-7 example around Howell for the phrase “local seo,” recorded Sept. 16, 2026. Visitors can inspect that sample without using search credits. It is a dated snapshot, since Maps results vary by location and time.

The checker is free to use on Cale Media's website. For a new live scan, users connect their own SerpApi account, and the lookups use that account's search allowance. The tool explains expected search use before a scan. No searches run automatically.

Brighton and other Livingston County business owners can place the grid around the neighborhoods they want to check, instead of assuming one Google Maps position covers their full service area.
