Karen is a faculty member in communication at the University of Michigan, Eastern Michigan University, and Washtenaw Community College. She has been a member of Toastmasters, where she has received multiple awards. Karen is also the author of a book titled "My Cave City Adventures," which is about her family's hometown. Additionally, she developed Horse Bits Academy, an initiative that teaches children about reading, communication, and leadership.
Karen delivered a TEDx talk focused on finding one's purpose in life. She considers her family to be her greatest achievement; she has been happily married to her best friend, Scott, for over 20 years, and her son Scottie is the light of her life, giving her a new purpose every day. Karen is eager to share her insights on how we can all discover our purpose and plan for the future.
