In 2022, a crack commando unit made up of broadcasters Mike Marino & Jon King was sent to radio prison by a military court for a crime they didn’t commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security unemployment office to the podcast underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune.
Mike Marino & Jon King both graduated from Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts in 1986, although they don’t remember seeing each other in the halls at the time. While they both took off after graduation, it wasn’t until 1994 that they met up as a morning duo in Monroe, where Jon (using the name JJ Quinn) pretended he was the little brother of MTV VJ Martha Quinn. They’ve been doing morning radio together for about 24 years, nearly 20 at WHMI which is where they came to know and love Livingston County. And here they are today doing what they did in radio only on a podcast!
