About Us

Ice House Skating Academy is a non-profit figure skating club. We skate out of Kensington Valley Ice House in Brighton and Hartland Ice House in Hartland. We offer many different avenues for skaters of all ages to learn and enjoy ice skating. Our youngest skaters are 3 and our oldest skater is 81! We offer Learn To Skate classes for beginning figure skaters and hockey players through our Harmony House Skating School, along with Freestyle Skating lessons for advanced skaters. Ice House Skating Academy members have competed at many U.S. Figure Skating Regional, Sectional and National competitions. We are home to the Harmony Theatre Company family of teams. Harmony Theatre Company is a national leader in Theatre on Ice and holds many National and International titles at U. S. Figure Skating Competitions. We host an annual ice show every spring, along with exhibitions for our Theatre On Ice Teams. We host Michigan Showcase annually in March, drawing skaters and teams from across the U.S. to compete in Showcase (Theatrical) skating. As a member of Team USA, we hosted the 2017 Nations Cup in Ann Arbor where teams from around the world competed. We hosted the 2018 National Showcase competition drawing top skaters from across the United States and bringing over 400 competitors and their families to our community in early August 2018. In 2019 we hosted our Annual Michigan Showcase competition and HIgh School Nationals competition.
