Michael Brocavich, CFP®, is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional at Center for Financial Planning. After earning a BA in Economics and Management from Albion College, he launched his career in finance with Federal Mogul in Southfield, Michigan. He then went on to earn an MBA from Wayne State University and relocated to Chicago, where he worked as a senior financial analyst, first for Federal Mogul and later Barton, Inc. Michael entered the personal finance field in 2007 when he joined MetLife Investors' Marketing and Distribution division. In 2013, he opened an Edward Jones office in Northville, Michigan, helping individual investors and small business owners with financial goal planning and wealth management. He joined Raymond James Financial Services in May of 2017 as a financial planner specializing in helping individual investors reach their financial goals in retirement. Michael and his wife live in Brighton. 

Nick Defenthaler is a Partner and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional at Center for Financial Planning, Inc.®.  Nick especially enjoys helping clients through the financial and emotional challenges of transitioning into retirement. His number one goal for clients is simple – to help alleviate the stress and anxiety money can cause in our lives. Nick has been involved in the financial services profession for over 15 years and joined The Center team in 2013. Nick was named to the 2022 Forbes list of Best-In-State Next-Generation Wealth Advisors, which recognizes advisors from national, regional and independent firms. When not at the office, you can find Nick spending quality time with his wife and three young children. Nick is passionate about living an active lifestyle which includes CrossFit, playing golf and hockey, hunting, fishing, camping and spending as much time as possible outdoors and exploring the beautiful state of Michigan! 

Matt Trujillo, CFP®, is a Partner and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional at Center for Financial Planning, Inc.® A team member since 2013 and a partner since 2021, Matt meets with clients as a Senior Financial Planner, serves on The Center’s Investment Committee, and frequently writes about financial planning and investment topics for The Center’s “Money Centered” blog. He has more than a decade of industry experience. Matt has also been named to the 2022 Forbes list of Best-in-State Next-Generation Wealth Advisors, which recognizes advisors from national, regional, and independent firms.*

Matt lives in South Lyon with his wife, Diane, and their sons, Luke and Gavin. The greatest among his many hobbies is his love for chess. He was the state of Michigan Chess Champion in 2010 (class E), 2011 (class B), and 2019 (Class A). In his spare time, he teaches chess classes for children in grades K-8.
