About Us
Bendix Academy is a nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching toolmanship and practical problem-solving to youth through mentorship and hands-on experience. Our mission is to spark curiosity, build confidence, and prepare students for success by connecting them with skilled mentors who guide them through meaningful, project-based learning.
We believe learning extends far beyond the traditional classroom. Bendix Academy offers a welcoming, workshop-based environment where students ages 12 and up gain exposure to essential skills such as measuring, cutting, building, and designing. Learning pathways include automotive, plumbing, mechanical, woodworking, and electrical—just to name a few. Along the way, students develop critical thinking, resilience, and a strong sense of accomplishment.
Our programs serve students with a wide range of interests—from those exploring engineering or skilled trades careers to those simply eager to build, fix, and create in their own lives. Bendix Academy helps open doors to career paths students might not otherwise consider.
At Bendix Academy, we’re building more than projects—we’re building confidence, character, and a future-ready workforce. We’re proud to be part of the Brighton community and invite new partners, volunteers, and supporters to join us in empowering the next generation of makers and doers.
